What is Colon Cancer?
Colon cancer is a growth that occurs in the large intestine or rectum. Sometimes it is referred to as colorectal cancer. It can take approximately 5-10 years to develop from a small skin tag type growth, called a polyp, to a large dangerous tumor.
Unfortunately, there are not typically any signs or symptoms. Colon cancer is preventable. Polyps can be easily removed during a colonoscopy, which effectively stops the growth. It is best treated when caught early.
